CTC Summer Festival Landhotel Geiselwind

From 7 to 9 August 2026, it was finally time again: pack the bags, get the Cotons ready and off we went to our CTC Summer Festival! This year, our journey took us to the Landhotel Geiselwind for the very first time.

And what can we say? Geiselwind – it was a perfect fit!

We humans felt completely at home, our Cotons certainly did too, and it quickly became clear that this was going to be a wonderful weekend together.

Because our Summer Festival is about so much more than dog shows. Of course, our wonderful Coton de Tuléar are always at the heart of everything – but the people behind them are just as important. Meeting old friends, getting to know new ones, laughing together, sharing stories and, of course, agreeing that everyone’s own Coton is quite obviously the most beautiful, sweetest and cleverest of them all. 😉

Friday – Arrived, Checked In and Ready to Laugh!

By Friday afternoon, the first guests were already arriving at the Landhotel. Many familiar faces were back again – our loyal “repeat offenders”, without whom a CTC weekend would hardly feel complete.

But we were also delighted to welcome some new faces. And as is usually the case with us, it doesn’t take very long for a slightly cautious “Hello” to turn into a lively conversation – and before you know it, you feel as though you have known each other for years.

Our Cotons show us how it’s done: a quick sniff – and then we’ll see if we get along! 😉

In the evening, we all came together for an à la carte dinner. There was plenty of good food, lots of conversation and, naturally, a great deal of laughter. And what did we talk about? Dogs, of course! Shows, litters, grooming, funny Coton stories and all those other extremely important things in life. Eventually, even we had to admit that it was time for bed. After all, a big day was waiting for us on Saturday morning.

Saturday – The Stage Belongs to Our Cotons!

On Saturday morning, things became serious – well, at least a little bit.

Our CTC Club Winner Show was on the programme, and we were especially pleased to welcome our new specialist breed judge Christopher Bofinger for the first time.

With great knowledge, patience and a keen eye for our breed, Chris carefully assessed our Cotons. And thankfully, there was still plenty of room for fun along the way.

Dear Chris, thank you very much for your commitment and for such an enjoyable and entertaining show day!

Our young junior handler Hjørdis also had the opportunity to show Chris what she could already do in the ring. Chris had even organised some small gifts especially for her.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Jacqueline Bofinger for the beautiful bag and for the special gift for the exhibitor who had travelled the furthest, Daniela Ketels. Anyone who travels such a long way to join us certainly deserves a little extra surprise!

Family Dogs in the Spotlight – Everyone Can Be a Star!

After the show, things became a little more relaxed in the ring – and that is exactly how we like it!

Our popular programme “Family Dogs in the Spotlight” gives those Cotons who are perhaps less interested in perfect show presentation the opportunity to demonstrate what they can do.

Here, there is only one rule: Have fun!

A little trick? Wonderful.
A special talent? Show us!
Simply enjoying a happy moment together in the ring? Absolutely!

Everyone can – nobody has to.

Our Adriana Patzelt accompanied every team with plenty of enthusiasm and heart and was delighted with each and every human-and-dog partnership brave enough to enter the ring.

We were especially happy to see our dear Elsbeth Hofmann taking part with her little girl. Together, they showed us once again that enjoying something together is worth far more than any trophy.

Coffee, Cake and a Little Club Business

After all the excitement, Saturday afternoon became a little more relaxed.

Our regular CTC General Meeting took place on the terrace of the Landhotel. And let’s face it – even a club meeting becomes much more enjoyable when there is coffee, cold drinks and a cake sponsored by the CTC. 😉

There was also a very special moment that afternoon.

Our dear Elsbeth Hofmann was honoured with the VDH Gold Medal of Honour in recognition of her many years of loyalty and commitment.

Dear Elsbeth, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for all the years you have supported and accompanied our CTC!

Other deserving members were delighted to receive the VDH Silver Medal of Honour.

And once the official part was finished, we could return to the really important things: sitting together, chatting, laughing and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Saturday Evening – Nobody Went to Bed Hungry!

In the evening, a delicious three-course buffet was waiting for us.

And afterwards?

Well… let’s just say: the CTC knows how to do more than organise dog shows! 😉

There was plenty of talking, laughing and perhaps the occasional glass or two enjoyed together.

Some conversations could probably have continued until breakfast.

Eventually, however, even the most dedicated Coton friends had to remember that another show day was waiting for us on Sunday. Our Cotons were, as usual, slightly more sensible than we were and had already decided that sleep was highly underrated..

Sunday – One More Time: Into the Ring!

On Sunday morning, we began the final day of our Summer Festival.

For our All-Breed Dog Show, we were delighted to welcome judge Celina Feldmann from Switzerland.

And this year brought another premiere: for the first time, we also had the pleasure of welcoming the Lagotto Romagnoli to our show.

We were delighted to have our four-legged guests and their owners joining us.

Once again, dogs were presented, fingers were crossed, everyone cheered each other on and, of course, there were plenty of congratulations.

And before we knew it, our final show day was already coming to an end. Suddenly, suitcases and dog bags appeared again, cars were being packed and everywhere you could hear: “See you soon!”

Three Days That Went by Far Too Quickly

What remains after a weekend like this?

Lots of wonderful memories, countless photographs, probably a few more dog hairs in the car – and above all, that special feeling of having shared something wonderful together.

Of course, a Summer Festival like this doesn’t happen by itself.

So we would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our helpers who rolled up their sleeves before, during and after the weekend.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising our shows and to our judges Christopher Bofinger and Celina Feldmann for their commitment.

And, of course, our biggest thank you goes to all our participants from Germany and abroad!

You don’t just bring your Cotons – you bring laughter, stories, friendship and the wonderful sense of community that makes our Summer Festival what it is.

For us, it is never simply about who takes home the biggest trophy.

It is about our love for this wonderful breed and about people who enjoy sharing that love with one another.

Or, as our motto says:

“Our events are nice because we are all nice to each other.”

And that sums up Geiselwind 2026 perfectly:

Warm-hearted. Fun. Easy-going. Sometimes a little chaotic. But above all – together.

A Very Special Thank You to Our Sponsors ❤️

There are a few more people we simply cannot forget. A very special thank you goes to our wonderful sponsors. Because what would a Summer Festival be without all those little and big surprises that make both our two-legged and four-legged guests happy?

Oliver Dunken from Cotonluv supported us with vouchers and lots of plush toys. With so many new cuddly friends to choose from, we suspect that one or two Cotons may have had a difficult decision to make about which toy should be allowed into their bed first. 😉
Cotonluv

Our Toni Schneider from AnCo Holzkunst makes sure that our winners can take something truly special home with them. He creates our unique trophies, which certainly cannot be bought off the shelf. Every single one is made with great care, craftsmanship and attention to detail, making each trophy a very special reminder of our shows. AnCo Holzkunst

The team at Fellows also made sure that our Cotons were well looked after when it came to tasty treats. They supplied us generously with plenty of delicious samples. Our dogs probably wouldn’t have complained if we had simply opened all the boxes and let them help themselves! 😉 Fellows

And then there is our dear Jacqueline Bofinger. Through Lucky Jim, Jacqueline organised so many different wonderful items for our dogs that at one point we found ourselves wondering:

Will we actually manage to give all of this away? The answer, of course, is yes! With so many Coton owners around, there is always a happy recipient – or perhaps we should say a happy little four-legged owner – for every lovely surprise. 🐾 Lucky Jim

Oliver, Toni, Fellows, Jacqueline and Lucky Jim – THANK YOU!

Thank you for supporting our CTC so generously and for helping us bring a little extra joy to our participants and their Cotons.

Denn auch diese vielen kleinen und großen Überraschungen gehören zu unserem Sommerfest und machen ein solches Wochenende noch ein bisschen schöner. hese little and big surprises are also part of what makes our Summer Festival so special.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for your support and for being part of our CTC family! ❤️

And after the Summer Festival is before the next reunion…

So pack up your Cotons – we’ll see you in Urlau!

Your CTC Team ❤️🐾

Review of Our Community Dog Shows in the Allgäu 27 February – 01 March 2026 | Leutkirch im Allgäu – Urlau

Our community dog shows in Urlau marked a wonderful start to the 2026 show season. Breeders, exhibitors, and dog lovers gathered in the cozy atmosphere of the Hirsch-Stadel for a weekend filled with enthusiasm, friendship, and a shared passion for our dogs.

Many participants arrived already on Friday afternoon. The weekend began with a relaxed and enjoyable evening, as everyone met for dinner in the Hirsch-Stadel, followed by pleasant conversations and a drink together at the GenussHotel.

On Saturday, judging began at 10:30 a.m. A total of 45 dogs were evaluated by judge Jelena Musikic, whose friendly and calm approach created a welcoming atmosphere in the ring, allowing both dogs and handlers to present themselves at their best.

After a generous breakfast on Sunday morning, judging continued at 10:00 a.m. Judge Dagmar Klein evaluated 40 dogswith great expertise and composure. Exhibitors especially appreciated the detailed explanations she gave about each dog, highlighting what she particularly liked and what she focused on during her evaluation.

Throughout the entire weekend, the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and collegial. Many participants expressed their appreciation for the well-organized event and already confirmed that they would be happy to return next year.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all helpers and dedicated participants who contributed to making this weekend such a pleasant and memorable event.

In keeping with the CTC motto: “Our events are nice because we are all nice to each other.”
And once again, this spirit was clearly felt throughout the weekend — especially as many first-time participants immediately felt welcome among us. 🐾

For the second time, we had the pleasure of being guests at the beautiful Landhotel Rügheim – and once again, we were absolutely delighted from beginning to end. It was a weekend that made not only our two-legged friends but also our beloved four-legged companions’ hearts beat faster. Everyone felt completely “coton-cozy” there. Many participants arrived already on Friday afternoon, so we were able to end the evening in a cheerful and joyful atmosphere with a shared dinner. For us, it is always a true gift to welcome back our loyal “repeat visitors,” to deepen old friendships – and just as wonderful to warmly greet new faces. From the very first moment, the newcomers were embraced with open arms and became part of our big Coton family. Our CTC Club Winner Show began on Saturday in a relaxed way at 1:30 p.m. This gave everyone plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, go for some walks, and start the day in a calm and pleasant manner. Throughout the entire hotel grounds, our Cotons were always welcome guests – whether in the park, in the rooms, or even during meals in the winter garden, where they were of course allowed to be by our side. On Sunday, judging started as early as 9 a.m., since a variety of different breeds were to be presented. But despite the early start, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation, excitement, and just a touch of magic. It was simply wonderful – a weekend full of beaming faces, wagging tails, and unforgettable moments. The show ring in the hotel park had been lovingly prepared: an inviting pavilion, beneath it the festively arranged winner’s trophies, sparkling ribbons, and little treasures for the youngest Cotons. The CTC Club Winners were delighted not only with vouchers from our main sponsor Cotonluv, but this year also with very special handcrafted trophies made of wood – individually created by anco-holzkunst and beautifully engraved by gschnittundbrennt. These unique keepsakes gave the moment an especially memorable touch. With many happy memories packed in our hearts, we now look forward with great excitement to our next reunion – this time in the beautiful Allgäu. We can hardly wait to see you all again there, to strengthen old bonds, make new friends, and share many more “coton-cozy” moments together.

Coton de Tuléar Club e.V. Note

At the trade fair in Uttenweiler on September 22, 2024, the Coton de Tuléar Club e.V. had the wonderful opportunity to present itself. This was made possible by Anni Vischer and Willi Vischer.

We were able to showcase ourselves on the grounds of the VPV General Agency, represented by Willi Vischer and Sascha Vischer. The Coton de Tuléar Club e.V. sold cakes baked by Sonja Berner, a total of 15 cakes and tortes.

Once again, a heartfelt thank you, dear Sonja, for this tremendous effort. Special thanks also to Sabrina, Timo, and Thomas, without whose help things would not have run so smoothly. Everything was just perfect. The weather cooperated, the people were in good spirits, our dogs were the stars of the day, and the sale of coffee and cakes was a success.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this day so unique and successful for our Coton de Tuléar Club e.V.!

My puppies have arrived

Two female puppies and one male, all healthy and lively. The little rascals are thriving, and it's wonderful to see them grow stronger and more curious each day. One of the male puppies might still be available and is looking for a loving home that can offer him as much affection and security as she has with my owners.
